So last Friday I blogged saying that I was Waiting in Anticipation for the break dancing show I was supposed to go see.
So we all pack into my friends car and head over to That's Amore's Lounge on Hillsborough Street. We paid the fee to get in turned the corner and realized there was not a single person on the dance floor. What had happened?
Did we get there too early?? I doubt it it was past 11 pm, people shoudl be dancing by now. But never the less we had already paid the $10 to dget in and we weren't about to waste out money. So we went upstairs and starting dancing.
It was kind of awkward for me at first. As long as I have been dancing I can get out on a dance floor and just free style. I find club dancing really hard to do because no one is standing there telling me what dance steps to do, I'm on my own. My friend and I have the same problem, she has been a dancer for a long time too. I would think that because I can dance, could do the same on a club dance floor. Everytime I try I have no clue what to do first.
There was hardly anyone on the dance fllor so I had no one to hide behind. I eventually got over it and started dancing to the intense electro/house beats that blasted out of the speakers. I finally fel tfree spirited while dancing probably because I knew Itwas my on creation and not something someone else created for me.
In all it was a ton of fun with some great people, even if the dance floor was more than half empty. I left the lounge wanting more.
